Pa pa Vila Raluca! Bye bye Vila Raluca!

Finally, we spent our last day in Romania celebrating with our kids in Vila Raluca. And we celebrated from the moment we opened the door! We started to dance and sing our EVS hits (romanian traditional songs, spanish songs, kids songs, turkish dances, international dances...)

It was our last romanian meal so we enjoyed every bite! As you could see, romanian meals are plentiful and long. Dance and sing is usual between the different courses of the menu (to let space for more food!). Vila Raluca cooked traditional romanian food for us:
sarmale and mamaliga, the perfect way to say goodbye to romanian food!

We really danced a lot!

We jumped, sang, laughed, danced... like there was no tomorrow! It was a very funny and emotional moment! And the tears came exactly here:

We also watched the video with a lot of moments of this year:

At the end of the evening we interchanged presents. The educators and the kids prepared presents for each one of us! And we gave them the photo-albums!!!

Pa pa Vila Raluca! A fost foarte frumos! Nu vom uita niciodata! Multumesc! :)
Bye bye Vila Raluca! It was very beautiful! We will never forget you kids! Thank you! :)

Pa pa, Vila Marian! Bye bye, Vila Marian!

Though I didn't had the same close contact to all of you children and educators, I felt a big feeling of love and respect between all of the children, youngsters, educators, guests and volunteers when we met a last time in Vila Marian to say goodbye and take a thankful look back to the year we spent together. Our party was a big thing, and the food was awesome! Thank you for that! And with this it was an appropriate ending for a year full of new experiences, fun, playing, and of course some problems which we solved together.

This year was changing myself a lot and showed me my personal way to get some kind of happiness. It gives me a goal which I can follow, and an understanding of what goes wrong in my actual situation. I hope I could give some alternative views and insights of other kind of possibilities to you, too. Some day I will come back, and we can play football in the park again... and I will try your tasty food again... and Marian and Valentin, we will drink our first beer together.

And with this pictures I say goodbye! I keep you in mind. :-)

To everyone else who read our blog, I want to say: If you're lost and you don't know what to do, when you're unhappy and you can't find a way out, or when you know what to do but you have a few month or one year time, or when you just know what you want and this is what you want: Make your own European Voluntary Service!

Bye bye, Vila Marian! Bye bye, Romania!

Daniel.

Pa Pa Vila Cristina! / Bye bye Vila Cristina!

We will spend our last 3 days in Romania celebrating with our kids. We will spend each day in one house and today, Friday, we were in Vila Cristina.

The party started at 14:00. All the kids, a few educators and chiefs were there to celebrate with us. They prepared an amazing meal with traditional romanian ingredients. Everything was so yummy and we ate a lot! The meat was very good, and we had our favorite romanian food: mici ^^

After lunch we started to play, sing and dance together. And finally, the emotional moment arrived. We prepared a photo-video with a lot of different moments of this year. We watched it all together, the kids laughed, Yoana cried and it was very emotive ^^.

Here it is:

Yoana had prepared a present for the kids. She gave a handmade photoalbum for each kid with several pictures of this year. The kids love the present and they were very excited. Normally they don't have pictures of themselves so it was a nice surprise and for sure a good memory of this year.
