Balkan Experiences I

Our trip to (Timișoara,) Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Montenegro
Part I
... in 27 notes.

Our one night break in Timișoara:
  • Timișoara is the capital city of Timis County in western Romania.
  • Timișoara is the third most populous city in the country.
  • It is the main social, economic and cultural center in the western part of Romania.
  • When we arrived in Timisoara the city celebrated the anniversary of the town with concerts of famous romanian bands, so we were in the concert of Smiley, Sore, Alex Verdea, Ruby...
  • We slept the first and the last time of this year on a campground.
  • We drank a Timisoreana in a park of Timisoara.

Serbia, from the north west to the south east:
  • We walked 20 kilometers from the border of Romania / Serbia to the first serbian town we wanted to visit: Vršac.
  • We slept on an indian cemetery.
  • There are nine lakes in Bela Crkva. We swam in two: a touristic and a wild one.
  • A Serbian man who lived in Canada since 20 years invited us to drink local beer (and to a barbecue) and talked with us about our future.
  • We saw a river snake which carried a fish to eat.
  • We spent a full morning in Belgrade talking with an American couple which is travelling since seven months on a big trip which is planned for two years. Serbia was the country number 80 for the woman!
  • We found an awesome bar in Belgrade: Leila!
  • In Belgrade we swam in the Danube.
  • It was our first time eating in Vapiano.
  • The workers of our hostel in Belgrade ("Good morning"-Hostel) brought food and a toy for Spoon and they even walked outside with her!
  • Yoana jumped down from a bridge into a river.
