Paste fericit!

Easter is the fundamental and most important festival of the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches. Eastern Christianity bases its calculations on the Julian calendar, so the celebration of Easter varies between 4 April and 8 May. This year it was celebrated in the first week of May. Easter is the one of the most important celebration of the Romanian people so it is preceded by numerous preparations and rituals.
You can read more about Traditional Eastern in Romania here, where you can find some traditions like the Palm day or the small fountain.
In Slobozia everything was prepared to celebrate Easter and to enjoy one of its traditions: easter eggs (oua de paste).
We spent our easter holidays on the coast, but this is another story!
Paste fericit!
