Hey hey,
welcome to our blog of our EVS-time in Romania. As you can see, my three girls from Spain and Germany write about our activities, our work and facts about Slobozia. So I will concentrate my entries mostly on my own views and experiences.

Here just a few facts about myself:
Names (in Romania): Daniel, Dan, Dani Danone

Age (in Romania): 25 - 26
From: Germany, Lower Saxony, wonderful Lüneburg
Profession: Educator

Why an European Voluntary Service:

When you want to do an EVS you should have some reasons. In fact, they just want two things from volunteers: A huge motivation and an age between eighteen and thirty.

There are a lot of reasons for an EVS which depends on your aims and stuff... well, in my case it was a spontanous idea, like the most things which happens in my life. I wanted to travel and see the world and I felt a great wanderlust since years.

Then I read about voluntary work in foreign countries. But all offers where so expensive: Two weeks in Cambodia, helping blind kids and I shall pay over one thousand euro?! That’s only crap for rich students acting like attention whores who need foreign experiences for their study and / or recognition, he?!

After some more of online researches I found two last minute offers for Romania and Armenia, so I thought: I can travel, see another country and doing a good thing with children at the same time. And maybe I will be more wise after this year, too, but when I listen to my girls... hm, not.
I sent my application to my sending organisation and one month later I slept in a romanian living room.
