Summer urban camp: Circus school, second week

* Day 6: Photo hunting
On Monday we started our last camp week. As usual we began the morning playing outside. One of the games we chose was "react and raise". In this game all the players are in a circle. A child with the ball throws it without a commando to another person. The children left and right of the new owner of the ball have to raise the left or right arms according to the side of the new ball owner who has to throw the ball to another player.

"The mouse and the cat" is a traditional game in which the kids form a circle, hand in hand, with stretched arms. One kid is the cat, outside the circle, and another kid is the mouse inside the circle. To start the round the cat asks to the mouse “what time is it?” and the mouse will answer the time that she-he wants. The circle will count until this number walking around the mouse. When the circle stops the cat can go inside to catch the mouse. The mouse will run to avoid the cat by going inside and outside of the circle, under the hands of the other kids. The cat must follow the way of the mouse to catch him-her.

We made a dreamcatcher in the craft time, using a plate, some color paper...

And a loooot of crepe paper:

After the craft we played the gymkhana: photo hunting around Slobozia.
We split into 2 groups, each one had a one-way camera, a list with a few places of the city and a few instructions. We had 2 hours to complete the list and arrive to the meeting point.

1. Group acrobatic in the square fruit market:

2. Individual acrobatic on a fountain:

*Day 7:  Juggling (level 1)

For the outside games we chose "guess who": The kids are divided in 2 groups, each team is placed in one side of the playground. One member of a team is in the middle with closed eyes (it). Someone of the opposite team has to walk and touch it and to come back quickly. It will open the eyes to guess who!

To play "What time is it?" all the kids are stand up in a line in one side of the playground. A kid is on the other side, with the back to the children. The kids will ask "what time is it?" and the other kid will answer, for example "it's 5 o'clock". The kids will walk 5 steps in the direction of the other kid, but, eventually, this kid will answer "time to eat" and she-he will turn around to catch as much kids as possible.

During the craft time of the last 3 days of the camp we made juggling balls with balloons and rice.

For the first level we just used 1 ball. To start we passed the ball from one hand to the other to get used to its weight. Then we passed the ball, and before to reach it we clapped. Each time it became more and more difficult, for example, we had to throw the ball from one hand, clap in front, clap behind, clap on the legs and catch the ball with the other hand.
