In Vila Marian Daniel and Yoana carried out a project with clothes. The idea was to create new clothes from old ones using materials like felt and fabric paint, and using methods like sewing, painting or pasting. This is a good idea to recycle, to try new techniques and new combinations. Sometimes a boring t-shirt or and old skirt can be transformed into a new cloth for an awesome outfit. In Vila Raluca we also wanted to try so we also developed this project.
The kids used some templates (for example animals, flowers, stars..) to cut from the felt. They sewed or glued the felt and they decorated it with silver and golden markers, glitter or other colors. They also drew or painted directly on the clothes. We also tried to change the shape of the clothes so the kids also cut some parts with different techniques as you can see for example on the back of this t-shirt:
In Vila Raluca we used the same methods, but unfortunately we don't have photos.
Nowdays is really important to learn about recycle, and about reduce and reuse too.
Be imaginative and create new clothes!
