Vine primăvara!

Finally, after a long winter, spring is coming! Even if in this winter we were spared from extremely freezing temperatures like -15°C, what indeed can happen here, still everybody`s grateful for the sun now. Seemingly, everything`s awaking, people go outside to talk on the streets or to have an ice cream. For me the temperatures now (around 27°) are quite summery and I`m already wearing my short trousers, but everybody else is still wearing long shirts and some even jackets. I guess that summer will be a pure horror for me and I can only hope that this year`s temperatures are gracious again.
For Vila Cristina it`s a big relief, too, when we`re not locked up in the house anymore, because a bunch of boys at this age can be difficult to bridle sometimes.
We already found our favourite park (in Slobozia there are a lot of parks), but this one, called "Paradis", seems to be kind of a meeting point of boys at the same age, getting together there to play football after doing their homework. Vila Cristina kids are perfectly integrated in the group and they don`t show any difficulties to deal with other children and we want to encourage them more and more to play with them and not to stay among each other all the time.

Near the park is the monastery of Slobozia which we visited a few days ago with a former history student who told us some interesting facts about it, e.g. that the defensive wall is over 500 years old and that it`s the only part of the monastery that survived some terrible earthquakes, the rest, however, had to be rebuilt.

Also the garden of Vila Cristina has a lot of space and is a good place for playing football...

... or for sidewalk chalk art.

Yesterday we tried to make giant bubbles with a mix of detergent, water, glycerin and sugar.
When I will have found the perfect recipe I will post it, but until then I have to try a lot, it`s not as easy as I thought.
Anyway, we made a few big bubbles, unfortunately nobody could catch them in a good picture.

Or sometimes we make an excursion to one of the thousand playgrounds of the town.

Summery regards, Miriam :)
