*Day 4: The Sea
We started the 4th day of the summer urban camp with our outside games:
Later we made a thaumatrope. A thaumatrope is a popular toy of Victorian times. It's a disk with a picture on each side. When the disk is twirled quickly the two pictures appear to combine into a single image. We made a pirate thaumatrope so we painted a pirate portrait on one side and an eye-patch on the other one. So when we twist the thaumatrope the pirate appears wearing the eye-patch!!!
After this craft we started the funniest activity for the kids. As you read before, this day was the day of the sea, so we prepared water games!!!
Our new crew of young pirates should transport water in different ways to achieve points for their teams. They carried water in glasses with their mouth, on their head, with balloons, by couples and groups, and even with their own hands!!!
*Day 5: The Turtle island
More outside games to start a new pirate day:
Turtle Island has its own language which has no letters or numbers, just pirates symbols!! We wanted to understand the stories of Turtle Island and for this we should discover their secret language through a pirate code tablet!!!
We finished the day playing Ultimate!:
Al :)
